Georgia Regional Commissions Funding
Statement of Purpose
As the state housing agency, the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is interested in promoting quality, affordable housing. In their role as regional planning and development agency, serving Georgia’s local governments, Regional Commissions play an important part in helping communities address their housing needs. DCA has set aside approximately $55,000 under a Request for Proposals (RFP) for housing related activities. These funds are directed toward providing training and education related to affordable housing and toward helping Georgia Initiative for Community Housing (GICH), and Communities of Opportunity (Co-Op) communities achieve their affordable housing goals. Through the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing, and the Communities of Opportunity DCA is committed to providing targeted assistance to communities with clearly articulated goals, plans, and implementation strategies.
