2013 Keep Georgia Beautiful Award Winners Celebrated   (12/13/2013)
More than 200 Georgians attended the 35th Annual Keep Georgia Beautiful Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, December 11 at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. The annual program honors individuals and organizations working to improve Georgia’s environment. Individual awards are presented to a public works official, student, male volunteer, female volunteer and executive director of the year. The program also honors Georgia’s Keep America Beautiful Affiliates, the largest such network in the nation, for their comprehensive environmental impact on the local community.

Nineteen Cities Selected for Georgia’s Main Street Start-up Program   (11/25/2013)
The Georgia Department of Community Affairs (GDCA) announced today that 19 new Georgia cities will become part of the Main Street Start-up Program, which provides technical assistance to communities looking to improve their downtowns. These cities will work during 2014 to meet state and national criteria to become designated Main Street programs eligible for national accreditation by 2015.
